BANGKOK — The rancorous relationship between Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s imprisoned elected leader, and Aung San Oo, her estranged older brother, reached a new impasse on Wednesday when no bidders showed up for the court-ordered auction of their famous family home in Yangon.
At 10 a.m., officials emerged from the steel-spiked gates made famous around the world by the rousing speeches Suu Kyi gave from them after being released from three rounds of house arrest totaling 15 years between 1989 and 2010.
