On Oct. 27, 2023, the Three Brotherhood Alliance — consisting of the ethnic armed outfits the Arakan Army (AA), the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) — launched Operation 1027 as part of a push against Myanmar’s ruling junta.
